I cannot believe how time has flown by – we were over in June to see the house. We are absolutely delighted with how things have turned out and the work that you and your team have completed has resulted in a superb improvement to our home. After over 170 years since the house was built and the various improvements over time, the house finally feels complete. This project involved demolishing existing structures originally on the left of the photo and building a new large open plan kitchen with large roof light. To the right of the photo, the ground floor is original and the 1st floor is a new build (built to match and blend in with the original 1st floor), with a bedroom and en suite bathroom. The project also included refurbishing the cellar into bedrooms and new patios and landscaping.

We recently selected HGT to complete our complete house renovation which consisted of a 3-month programme including a loft conversion, new stairwells, converting an integrated garage, rendering externally, fitting new windows and decorating. Having just completed the build we have been impressed with the quality of the work and the team that carried it out. John was regularly present and always available on the phone to update us on progress and the team was professional, friendly and trustworthy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or use HGT for future projects.

This project involved refurbishing the majority of the house and a loft conversion as well as the small extension to the left. The external envelope was renovated with new Anthracite aluminium windows and Alpine render. Internally there were major structural alterations with new staircases and Dorma windows including the installation of several 7m steel beams to the rear of the building where no mechanical assistance was possible.

I chose HGT to carry out a major refurbishment of my property not because their quote was the cheapest, but because John took the time to listen to what I wanted to achieve and considered my requirements carefully. Inevitably, as the build progressed, unforeseen issues came to light and after discussion of the situation John always came up with a solution. Similarly, if I wished to make changes John was not only very helpful in effecting the changes but also proactive in making suggestions as he was in tune with my end goal.
On the rare occasions that something was not done to my satisfaction, John ensured that it was re-done. We established an excellent working relationship of mutual respect which was very important to me, and I can honestly say that I am delighted with the finished job. Furthermore, John is highly reliable and he and his workers were on-site when expected but on the few occasions that they were unable to be there John contacted me to inform me and returned the following day to continue the work.
The build took some months to complete and John respected the scheduled site meetings as well as meeting with me on an “ad hoc” basis when necessary. I can sincerely say that I would recommend HGT to anyone who has building needs as the job will be done to the client’s satisfaction and within the agreed time limits.

We chose HGT to build a 20 square metre garden room that had long been our ambition. We were hugely impressed by the quality of workmanship that we saw and the very positive and professional attitude of the company owner, John Sayers.
Over the next few months, we got to know John Sayers and the HGT workforce extremely well. We can only say positive things about all our experiences despite the project turning out to have a number of unusual features and some unexpected difficulties.
Everyone who worked on the project was committed to a very high standard of finish. Although the work took place during winter, not a day’s work was missed and everything progressed as planned. John was on site most days, always had a helpful conversation with us and ensured that materials and solutions to problems were always made available immediately.
As we also needed some landscaping done on completion of the project we were more than pleased to ask HGT to extend the contract and do this work for us. The result was way beyond our expectations and we were thrilled to have a delightful new room in a re-modelled garden that was all in perfect order and ready to use immediately on the intended date.
