
Harbour Shipping Officces were built in a five week programme The development involved forming a sound proof shell out of metsec with insulation and sound block plasterboard skimmed. The internals were formed with metal stud walls finshed in plaster, grid ceilings and raised access floors. The office was fitted with floor boxes and Dado trunking to allow complete flexibility in ITC and office furniture layout. Temperature controlled ceiling cassettes with remote control sensors were installed. The customer facing counter was installed to suit Harbour shipping requirements.
Drivers rest room was formed from a former shop unit which was stripped out lined with new skimmed walls, the grid ceiling and lighting were replaced and Sky TV installed as well as Internet facilities built into the walls for security with only the key board and mouse accessible on the ‘breakfast bar’ style counter.
The truck welfare facilities were built in a 9 day programme which involved the project progressing 20 hours a day. In the nine day programme all internal walls were installed comprising of metal frame walls lined with ply and moisture resistant plasterboard once formed the 1st fix electrics and plumbing were carried out in the day shift with tillers working at night to fully tile all floors and walls (almost 200m2 of tiling) As each wall was completed the sanitary goods were fitted. The build comprised of 4 fully fitted washrooms, operation room and welfare facilities.
